How Does the Treatment Work?
HIFU therapy can be compared to a magnifying glass: ultrasound waves are focused so that heat is generated at a single point. This heat destroys the cancer cells while the surrounding tissue is spared. Throughout the entire procedure, we monitor the treatment with high-resolution real-time imaging, ensuring the highest level of precision and safety.
The Process for Patients – Step by Step
Initial consultation: We take the time to answer your questions and discuss your individual situation.
Preparation: Prior to treatment, all necessary examinations are carried out so that we can plan the treatment area precisely.
Treatment: The procedure usually takes between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours. Throughout, you are continuously attended to by our team.
Follow-up care: After the treatment, you will generally remain in our clinic for one to two nights for observation. Most patients are then able to leave the clinic.
Return to everyday life: Since there are no incisions or radiation exposure, recovery is considerably faster than after surgery.
