PD Dr. Jörn H. Witt is a specialist in urology and one of Europe’s leading robotic surgeons, with personal experience from almost 10,000 robot-assisted procedures. After studying medicine in Essen, Göttingen, and Bochum (medical licensure 1987), he completed his doctorate in 1988 (summa cum laude) and his habilitation in 2020 at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, with a focus on robot-assisted radical prostatectomy.
In his clinical work, Dr. Witt combines the highest level of surgical expertise with a clear standard of oncological quality and a focus on functional outcomes (continence, preservation of potency). His areas of specialisation include robot-assisted uro-oncology (in particular prostatectomy, cystectomy, partial nephrectomy), reconstructive urology, and minimally invasive procedures on the prostate, bladder, and kidney.
Dr. Witt co-founded the Prostate Centre Northwest (Prostatazentrum Nordwest) and established one of the largest urological robotics centres in Europe in Gronau. He has been active in continuing medical education for many years (including as Chair of the Working Group on Laparoscopy & Robot-Assisted Surgery of the DGU), is an Associate Board Member of the European Robotic Urology Section (ERUS), and has been an affiliated Expert for Digital Health of the WHO since 2019.
